Does expanded artificial intelligence improve the prognostic value of myocardial perfusion imaging? A report from the NHLBI-sponsored women's ischemia syndrome evaluation (WISE)
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background We previously introduced a model-based approach (Decisions Informed by Computed Entities [DICE]), a mathematical form of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve prognostic values of quantitative myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). When DICE was applied to cardiovascular MRI (CMR) it improved prediction of MACE in women with suspected ischemic heart disease (IHD) compared to the conventional MPI interpretation. Our aim is to determine if expanded DICE modeling improves prognostic capability to predict MACE.

Decisions Informed by Computing Entities (DICE) to improve prognostic value of myocardial perfusion imaging: the NHLBI-sponsored Women's Ischemia Syndrome Evaluation (WISE) Study
Background Quantitative analysis can improve myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) for prediction of prognosis. We have designed a novel approach, Decisions Informed by Computed Entities (DICE), to enhance the prognostic ability of MPI data to predict major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in women with suspected ischemic heart disease. We applied DICE to cardiovascular magnetic resonance imag...
متن کاملBio-informatics assessment schema (BIAS) to improve myocardial perfusion image diagnostic and prognostic value: the NHLBI-sponsored women's ischemia syndrome evaluation (WISE) study
Background Introduction: When assessing myocardial perfusion image (MPI) data for diagnosis or prediction of prognosis it is common to evaluate the technology using a ReceiverOperator Characteristic (ROC) curve. The diagonal response represents the knowledge prior to conducting the test (i.e. the diagonal represents random chance). We present an approach termed Bio-Informatics Assessment Schema...
متن کاملEffectiveness of cardioprotective medication in women with suspected ischemic heart disease syndrome: the NHLBI-sponsored women's ischemia synrome evaluation (WISE) study
Methods Women (n=113), mean age 58±12 years, undergoing coronary angiography for symptoms suggestive of myocardial ischemia additionally underwent myocardial perfusion and cardiac function CMRI evaluation. Previously we identified four ischemic heart disease components associated with adverse cardiac events: 1) coronary artery stenosis > 50%, 2) low global myocardial perfusion, 3) high cardiac ...
متن کاملDiagnostic Value of Ankle Brachial Index for Myocardial Ischemia in Asymptomatic Diabetic Patients and Comparison with Myocardial Perfusion Imaging
Objective: The ankle-brachial index (ABI) as a simple test which can detect peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Therefore in this study we try to evaluate the diagnostic value of ABI for silent myocardial ischemia in diabetic patients and compare the results with myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) results. Materials and Methods: All 149 diabetic patients in this study were categorized according...
متن کاملAcetylcholine versus cold pressor testing for evaluation of coronary endothelial function
BACKGROUND Assessment of coronary endothelial function with intracoronary acetylcholine (IC-Ach) provides diagnostic and prognostic data in patients with suspected coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD), but is often not feasible due in part to the time and expertise needed for pharmacologic mixing. Cold pressor testing (CPT) is a simple and safe stimulus useful for either invasive or non-inv...
